Job Summary

Enables project teams to deliver software products by primarily utilizing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software.  Provides architectural direction and leadership throughout the project lifecycle by assisting the project team with application architecture decisions.  Collects, develops and propagates software development, application architecture, and technology best practices. Promotes sharing of common architecture patterns and frameworks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conceptualizes, designs, guides and enables the construction of software applications utilizing RPA software, including infrastructure, operating systems, security, scalability, and business features in compliance with DTE Energy’s IT Security Application Solution Delivery Standards.
  • Works with IT Security and development groups to ensure that corporate standards are communicated and maintained (security, networking, tools, etc.).
  • Mentors software developers and other team members;  guides technical resources on implementation of architecture, tool selection, security standards and best practices.
  • Identifies technology solutions for business requirements which are consistent with DTE Energy's business and technology environment.  Provides technical advice and quantification of technical risks to business partners.
  • Articulates the architectural vision, conceptualizes and realizes architectural approaches and experiments with alternatives.  Makes recommendations regarding architectural solutions and creates artifacts such as models, diagrams and component documents including creation of solution design documents (SDD) and technical design documents (TDD).
  • Assists with resolution of technical problems and validates the software architecture against requirements and assumptions.
  • Collaborates with others and shares new ideas and best practices.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an information technology related discipline (I.e., MIS, CIS) and five years of related IT experience, including software design and implementation OR high school diploma and nine years of related IT experience, including software design and implementation.

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • One year of lead developer experience for an application development project.
  • Industry recognized software architecture or technical architecture certification.
  • One year of Robotic Process Automation technical design and project delivery experience.
  • Blue Prism Certification.

     

Other Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of and ability to independently apply fundamental software engineering skills and industry software development methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of the IT industry (e.g., emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures, open-source initiatives, systems design and systems integration).
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to independently apply fundamental business and leadership skills including planning, organizing, verbal and written communication, research and analysis, decision making, negotiation, problem solving, ethics and tolerance, interpersonal relationships, personal/professional balance, professional growth, and self-improvement.
