Programs and resources for our veterans

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency has recognized DTE’s dedication to veterans with its highest designation – gold level – under its Veteran-Friendly Employer Program.

We’re committed to building a work environment that attracts and keeps veterans on our team, including an array of programs that help us maintain a 90 percent veteran retention rate.

On-the-Job Training Program

Our company is an On-the-Job training facility under the G.I. Bill, offering select apprenticeships in our electric and nuclear operations.

Military Leave Program

DTE participates in the Military Leave Program for full- and part-time employees called to active or emergency military duty. To ensure our vets’ financial health, the program pays employees the difference between their military and DTE pay for the duration of their active duty or annual reservist training.

DTE’s Veterans Resource Group

Our employee resource group, VETS (Veterans, Empowered, Transitions, and Support), provides networking, education and other support for our veterans and their families. VETS members help veterans inside and outside our company, with special focus on transition, disability, homelessness and deployment issues.

DTE Energy is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, disability, national origin, citizenship, height, weight, genetic information, marital status, pregnancy, protected veteran status or any other status protected by law.
