Safety Internship – Summer 2019

Location:  Ann Arbor, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY

This full-time or part-time position assists the safety department in developing, implementing, coordinating and analyzing results and effectiveness of the safety program.

PRINICIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety interns are involved in analyzing processes to determine if changes are required to improve safety, developing training materials, researching and developing compliance program templates and forms, producing metrics reports and assisting in providing guidance to comply with Federal and multiple State standards.

NECESSARY SKILLS

The successful candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering or similar field AND must possess the following skills:

  • Organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
