Testing Required:

On-Site Role: Must be available to work on-site at this assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

Provides oversight and management of operations and maintenance activities for the Company's renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, battery facilities, and shared facilities. Optimizes the operation of solar parks & energy storage sites and ensures close coordination with Operations and Maintenance and the Company's power marketing and dispatching authorities. Develops work scope and organizes, assigns and supervises the work of office and field personnel and contractors.

Key Accountabilities

• Performs or ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s): planning, organizing, and directing the performance of ongoing activities, special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selection, training/coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting. Develops the knowledge and abilities of subordinate staff in these areas.

• Leads problem-solving efforts within the renewable energy discipline, and develops the internal capacity for continuous improvement (CI) and problem solving by people closest to the problems/issues, through developing their CI knowledge and abilities (problem definition, root cause analysis, counter measures, etc.).

• Coordinates/schedules tasks, resources and activities to reach pre-specified goals.

• Administers Corporate and local policies and procedures; is cognizant of whether such policies and procedures are designed and applied optimally; recommends changes as appropriate.

• Uses engineering drawings, specifications, and/or related documentation in one or more of the following (in the engineering, operations, or maintenance disciplines):

- Designing, developing and improving operations, and maintaining facilities and equipment

- Conducting or participating in engineering effectiveness studies regarding the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation

- Identifying and analyzing maintenance technologies and procedures.  Follow standard company work management processes and tools

- Collecting and analyzing operating data (vibration, thermograph, lubrication, testing, failure analyses), operating records and performance reports

- Assuring that electrical and mechanical equipment is maintained in a safe, efficient, and economical working condition

• Develops challenging short- and long-term group plans and objectives aligned with those of the organization; solicits staff input in the developmental process.

• Develops/coordinates cross-functional work groups and projects, yielding optimal outcomes.

• Will require frequent travel to various renewable energy sites.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

This is a multitrack base requirement job. Education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:

 

• High school or GED and 8 years of power generation or renewable energy asset supervisory experience in one or more of the following disciplines: maintenance, or operations; OR

• Associate degree in a job relevant technical fields such as engineering or engineering technology, and 6 years of power generation or renewable energy asset experience; OR

• Bachelor's degree in a job relevant technical fields such as engineering or engineering technology, and 4 years of power generation or renewable energy asset experience

 

Experience can be drawn from a combination of the following areas, depending on the circumstances applicable to the given vacancy: Common system operations; Instrument and control systems; Outage management; Modification process; Mobile equipment; Predictive maintenance; Turbine systems; Project management; Operator controllable losses; Work management systems; Performance testing.

Other Qualifications

Preferred:

• Experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance and/or a recognized renewable energy degree/certification.

 

Other Requirements:

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Maximo, PI, Wind SCADA (Wind Farm Management System), Condition Based Maintenance, Predictive Monitoring, or other applicable software applications sufficient to apply them with minimal instruction or guidance.

• Knowledge of environmental regulations

• Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence

• Analytical and problem solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations

• Working knowledge of financial and economic analysis, project and risk management

• Flexibility and the ability to work with shifting priorities; embrace new/evolving responsibilities
