ENGINEERING SUMMER INTERN

 

Location: CANONSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA

This is a summer internship position located in our Canonsburg, Pennsylvania office.  This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in the day to day operations of a midstream gas company and be a contributing member of the team by taking ownership of assignments all while being mentored by our staff.

 

Duties vary depending on area of focus and may include:

  • Work closely with field staff supporting their day to day operations as well as being involved in formal project work
  • Performing engineering and statistic functions related to the natural gas business
  • Providing support to the system modeling group, compiling and analyzing data for various studies, evaluating new and existing technologies to improve operations, and implementation of various projects
  • Developing pipeline system models and analyzing the effect on the gathering and distribution system
  • Developing process improvements, writing and compiling procedures and standards, and implement computer technology
  • Observing field operations; compressor stations, pipline and misc. midstream field assets
  • Tracking and analyzing compressor and pipeline performance to determine optimum operating conditions
  • Preparing programs and costs estimates for various field operations work
  • Analyzing volume and performance data relative to forecasts to help understand variances to the business plan


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Successful candidates must have completed a minimum of their freshman year in college pursuing a degree in engineering, business, IT or a closely related field
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software; modeling and/or mapping experience a plus
  • Possess analytical and problem identification/resolution skills
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or above
