Job Summary

Oversees and coordinates maintenance work performed by contract personnel, including daily corrective and preventative maintenance work and during forced and/or periodic unit outages at the energy center. Ensures maintenance work complies with company standards, contract specifications, project schedules, and job requirements. Interfaces with internal and external teams to ensure allocation of appropriate resources. Works with maintenance planning personnel to ensure completion of work aligns with maintenance schedules. Coordinates contract administration of external labor, materials, and warranties. Span of control: 0; individual contributor.

Key Accountabilities

• Enforces safe work practices, coordinates contractors in safety and environmental standards, and ensures crew operator qualification standards are maintained
• Leads and coordinates multiple tasks or projects across skilled trade personnel, including vendors, contractors, and engineering teams engaged in the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of energy center equipment
• Oversees project work assignments and ensures adherence to quality and scheduling, including welding required in the maintenance, repair, and construction of plant equipment
• Ensures contractors perform maintenance and project work in compliance with company standards and procedures
• Ensures application of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and other agreements (e.g., General Presidents Project Maintenance Agreement (GPPMA), etc.)
• Leads meetings with internal staff and external suppliers, vendors and contractors to develop and meet organizational goals
• Reviews and ensures contract compliance between the company and contractors
• Acts as key tag protection leader, job leader, and/or plant radiation designee as needed
• Leads continuous improvement and related initiatives for a given group(s)
• Provides oversight to represented and non-represented employees and contractors, inclusive of maintenance personnel as needed

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
• Associate degree in an engineering discipline (or completion of two years of a four-year accredited engineering program) and five years of mechanical, electrical, or instrument experience working on equipment in a power plant, heavy industrial, or heavy construction setting, inclusive of 3 years estimating, scheduling, or planning work; OR
• High school diploma or GED and seven years of mechanical, electrical, or instrument experience working on equipment in a power plant, heavy industrial, or heavy construction setting as a skilled trade or certified operating position, inclusive of 3 years estimating, scheduling, or planning work

Other Qualifications

• Completion of a skilled trade apprenticeship or certificate in a job-relevant skilled trade
• Experience with welding and non-destructive examination (NDE), inclusive of code certification under the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and/or American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
• Experience leading projects, teams, and/or tasks (e.g., senior or lead operator, project lead or supervisory capacity)
• Experience with power generating stations and/or combined cycle energy

Other Requirements
• Ability to complete and pass required training, inclusive of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) programs prior to date of hire or within 12 months from date of hire
• Proficiency in office/system software applications and related platforms
• Ability to work varying shifts and overtime
• Good verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a team and/or matrix structure supporting multiple clients
• Ability to conduct effective, efficient meetings and coordinate meetings with optimal results
• Ability to work with shifting priorities and embrace new/evolving responsibilities
