Analyst, Contract & Gas Management I

Job Summary

This is a specialized position that captures commercial storage, transportation, and gathering agreements into contracts; enters and maintains the contracts in a gas management system; ensures customers receive their contracted services; monitors and communicates maintenance and operational conditions to customers, interconnecting pipelines, gas control and operations; and coordinates with accounting to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.  

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare contracts which capture the commercial storage, transportation, and gathering agreements from deal confirmations.
  • Follow the contract administration corporate procedure for documenting, authorizing, routing, tracking, and filing contracts.  Proactively adjust procedures to minimize risk.
  • Provide 24/7 nomination assistance to customers.
  • Communicate with gas control and interconnecting pipelines the nomination and confirmation changes throughout the day/evening.
  • Monitor interconnecting pipeline system notices to communicate with all necessary internal/external key contacts as needed. 
  • Able to analyze data and make decisions to manage daily and long-term business (natural gas flows, pressures and continuous improvement initiatives).
  • Work with interconnecting pipelines and shippers to monitor imbalances. Lead weekly review to minimize risk exposure and schedule necessary payback schedule accordingly.
  • Communicate scheduled maintenance and operating disruptions or conditions with customers, interconnects, and gas control.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with accounting to ensure that invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Cross-train new team members on scheduling, contracts and accounting procedures.
  • Extract data and prepare reports as needed, including daily operations and gas control reports, monthly invoices and fuel reports, quarterly storage and transportation reports, and annual reports.
  • Maintain web page content as needed.
  • Assist in special projects as necessary.  These can include, but not limited to, Customer Activity Website design and testing.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or a related field (or the ability to obtain said Bachelor's Degree within 6 months of hire); OR an Associate's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or related degree in conjunction with a minimum of three years of industry experience.

 

Other Qualifications Preferred:

 

  • Strong communication skills which include the ability to convey confidence and appropriate urgency using a calm demeanor.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficient software skills including Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to understand and maintain an alert status to daily operational constraints and customer concerns. 
  • Capable of accurately applying calculations of flow rates, service fees, and related computations.
  • Minimal travel required. Work schedule will require rotating weekend/evening/holiday coverage.
