Job Summary

Oversees the Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and related standards development, including implementation, updates, and enforcement. Coordinates the creation of content library files and templates, including creating and enforcing standards and evaluating project models. Develops project workflows and provides consulting on related maintenance and operation activities to drive alignment and adoption across business units.  Leads resolution of issues with end users and external design firms.  Span of control: 0; individual contributor.

Key Accountabilities

• Manages building information platforms (e.g., Revit) ensuring adherence to BIM standards, audit of project models, and integrity of the master model and data for each building
• Provides quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings and as-built drawings
• Oversees BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement, including the creation and maintenance of software template files to support standards
• Coordinates developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards and trains and oversees activities of design team to ensure standards are maintained
• Supports and coordinates project setup, standards, model details, creation or addition of project families, and management of any exceptions or changes to standards
• Leads and manages software installation, implementation, updates, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for all BIM related software and cloud systems
• Serves as the primary liaison with internal information technology system team and external software vendors for managing, supporting, upgrading, and managing BIM software and facilities-related cloud-based systems
• Evaluates new BIM related software and technologies, stays informed on best practices for use of building information software (e.g., Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, and BIM) and creates written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption
• Provides fundamental and intermediate training to staff on all BIM and facilities cloud-based systems including continuing education on BIM processes and technical orientation to new employees and project team members
 

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • This is a dual-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following two options:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of experience in design, drafting or engineering production, inclusive of BIM management in an architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) firm; OR
    • High school diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in design, drafting or engineering production, inclusive of BIM management in an architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) firm
Other Qualifications

Preferred
• Working knowledge or experience in facilities management-related cloud-based systems

Other Requirements
• In-depth working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and digital technology tools
• Understands the practice of architecture, project management and delivery, and construction methods
• Ability to complete continuing education training on BIM and related technologies
• Good interpersonal skills and effective working with others in a team environment
• Ability to use time productively, including maximizing efficiency and meeting goals
• Ability to take on additional responsibilities, including ability to determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
• Strong written and verbal collaboration and communications skills
