Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for informing and inspiring employees by creating, deploying, and continuously improving digital communications and channels. Digital channels include SharePoint, email, text message, video screens, Viva Engage and others. Responsibilities include proactive marketing campaigns and reactive crisis communications. Span of control: this is an individual contributor role.

Key Accountabilities

    • SharePoint Administration:
      • Coordinate and perform changes to internal SharePoint site pages.
      • Provide reporting on website performance using analytics available.
      • Ensure website content adheres to legal and brand standards.
      • Contribute ideas to improve design and performance of pages to achieve strategi communications goals.
      • Coordinate creative assets to support content updates.
    • Lead Generation/Customer Relationship Management (CRM):
      • Assist with email/SMS marketing campaign setup, administration and performance reporting.
      • Maintain email and CRM best practices while working with our marketing tools.
      • Assist in optimizing existing email marketing opportunities and creating new ones.
      • Provide email/SMS analytics and reporting.
      • Disseminate communications across SMS, email, web and other digital channels, including urgent communications during crises.
    • Work closely with Corporate Communications strategic teams to ensure a consistent digital presence across the enterprise and to ensure that all communications objectives of business units are met.
    • Work closely with Information Technology teams to resolve emergent issues and evaluate and implement new marketing and communications technology.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field and the knowledge / capabilities typically acquired through 5+ years of job-relevant experience.

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certified.
  • Experience in multiple electronic media formats (online, email, video, podcasts, Webinars, eNewsletters).
  • Previous experience with a Web content management system (e.g., IBM WebSphere CMS).
  • Basic understanding of web programming including HTML coding, CSS and JavaScript and dynamic content and responsive design in email marketing.
  • Strong understanding of UX and UI design within digital channels.
  • Understanding of basic graphic design concepts (alignment, contrast, balance, hierarchy, repetition, proximity, color, space, and proportion).
  • Experience with marketing automation tools, specifically CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce).

 

Other Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, project management, time management and multitasking skills, including ability to accurately gauge project duration, manage expectations, deliver on deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Viva Engage in the Office 365 platform.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; previous experience with Google Analytics.
  • Excellent web writing and editing skills.
  • Sound business judgment, including ability to quickly grasp complex issues and understand their effects and interconnections.
  • Experience with email and SMS marketing tools (i.e., Exact Target).
  • Working knowledge of social media (i.e., YouTube, Twitter, Facebook).
  • Understands domain management (e.g., vanity URLs).
  • Understands the technical aspects and language of online content delivery and demonstrates a willingness and interest in keeping up-to-date on technology as it evolves.
