Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.
Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job Summary
- Responsible for the organization, storage, and management of engineering documentation (e.g. design guides, drawings, as-builds, equipment list(s), vendor operating & maintenance documents) for the Corporation's engineering, design, procurement, and construction projects (e.g. capital, environmental, and nuclear projects) in a readily accessible fashion. Documentation can be up to thousands of documents per project. Incumbent ensures that: (A) nomenclature is consistent and documents are classified correctly within the Corporate engineering standards and procedures, and; (B) vendor engineering companies are following Corporate processes and procedures (consistent with Corporate document & retrieval standards). Incumbent works in accordance with detailed policies and procedures, or specific instructions. Passage of a security screening & drug test is necessary for this job. Key Accountabilities
- Gathers, analyzes, and reports to a senior-level analyst with regard to engineering documentations accuracy & compliance with Corporate standards & procedures.
- Instructs engineering vendor firms and internal project engineers on Corporate standards & procedures for all engineering documentation.
- Identifies, revises, and communicates errors and misclassifications within engineering documentation to internal project engineers and vendor engineering firms.
- Updates Corporate documentation procedures and processes on an as needed basis to stay consistent with emerging technologies and Corporate engineering standards.
- Gathers, organizes, exports, and stores all engineering documentation in the Corporate database.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED and 1+ years of job-relevant experience
Other Qualifications
Preferred
- Associate degree in business, construction management, or engineering

- Communicates effectively (verbally & in writing) with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the Corporation.
- Ability to work in a 'team' and/or 'matrixed' structure, supporting multiple clients, procedures & policy.
- Analytical & problem solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
- Ability to apply project planning & implementation and/or continuous improvement principles to affect tangible, positive outcomes.
- Working knowledge of engineering, or scientific procedures, equipment, and testing methodology.
