Job Summary

Functions as the Organization's leading technical accounting expert on current and evolving accounting rules and regulations (GAAP); the "go to" person for rendering GAAP interpretations on the full range of accounting-related actions and activities with the objective of ensuring DT Midstream compliance with all            applicable regulations and standards. Responsible for overseeing the preparation and timely issuance of DT Midstream and subsidiary annual and quarterly financial statements filed with or provided to the SEC, FERC, MPSC, DOL and other external users.

Key Accountabilities

•    Leads implementation efforts for new accounting standards, reviews proposed standards, and drafts standard summaries and comment letters.
•    Leads implementation efforts of new disclosures arising from new accounting standards, SEC rules, or significant new transactions.
•    Coordinates the preparation of position papers and related recommendations to senior management with regards to accounting and disclosure issues on new technical accounting standards and the application of existing standards to new company transactions.
•    Provides technical direction and guidance on accounting matters to accountants, finance, and operations personnel in all areas of the company.
•    Interfaces with various external parties (primarily independent auditors) on a regular basis. Responsible for development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of company-wide accounting policies.
•    Responsible for development and presentation of internal technical accounting training programs to the organization.
•    Participates in contract administration efforts through review of contracts with values greater than $10 million; advising contract owners of accounting and disclosure issues arising from contracts.
•    Provides accounting due diligence support for M&A, divestitures, and any other particularly complex or unusual transactions, including contract and economic model review.
•    Supports Investor Relations in preparation of quarterly press release and earnings call presentation. Supports Treasury and Legal Departments in periodic debt and other financing transactions.
•    Responsible for preparation of external financial statements and disclosures for SEC, FERC, and all applicable agencies.
•    Responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of disclosure controls and procedures designed to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
•    Manages staff of two direct reports.
•    Creates and fosters a positive, collaborative working environment within and across functional areas.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting and ten years of work-related experience in financial accounting, accounting research, and external reporting
•    CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

•    In-depth knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and SEC rules and regulations. 
•    Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including driving change and continuous improvement, balancing multiple priorities, and motivating staff.
•    Demonstrated ability to successfully work with cross functional groups, leading team to reach defined goals.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience in and ability to succinctly analyze, summarize, and present information to various management levels (including senior and executive).
•    Experience in and the ability to effectively provide guidance to and communicate with others; highly proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills.
•    PC Proficiency, including experience with MS Office Products.
