Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

    This role will define and manage a data strategy roadmap that includes enhancing capabilities to centralize and maintain data for easy and reliable access for decision making. Projects ranging from integration of data sources into a centralized data mart, to leveraging advanced business intelligence tools, are among the undertakings for which this role is responsible. Identify, champion and drive changes necessary to ensure continuous improvement in performance by leading a group which has high strategic impact on the Customer Service Business Unit to meet the overall objectives of business processes that provide reliable service and data to internal and external customers. Span of control: Leads a team of analysts and principal analysts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides operational support for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to the organization;s stakeholders. The position will project manage all strategic, tactical, financial, and technical business intelligence resources for the organization. Negotiates project objectives and direction with senior leaders, defining scope and ensuring resources are aligned toward execution. Projects vary in scope and duration.
  • Manages business intelligence strategy in conjunction with other business leaders to gain data-driven insights which support business decisions and identify new opportunities. Translates needs into formulated vision and long term roadmaps, providing strategic alignment for projects and initiatives to be executed under the roles direction.
  • Leverages subject matter expert knowledge and benchmarks against external business intelligence authorities, e.g. Google, Amazon, etc. to create a roadmap for data analytics within DTE Customer Service. Acts as a thought leader on data mining and analytics.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders to identify key business intelligence projects with measurable value propositions to improve organizational performance, reduce costs, increase operational efficiencies and provide new business opportunities.
  • Manages a portfolio of business intelligence projects which includes the plan, scope and functional requirements development, project prioritization and risk management. Ensures that projects are meeting established timelines as well as providing measurable business value.
  • Establish and monitor customer and internally-focused data integrity goals and measures, which support operations, governmental and other external reporting requirements.
  • Manage the resources to exceed customer and client satisfaction within allowed capital and O&M budgets.
  • Develop requests for proposals, vendor contract terms/provisions, deliverables required, and contract measurement and monitoring.
  • Provides day-to-day work direction and technical leadership for multiple teams and multiple projects concurrently. Project ownership and management of applications and maintenance of Customer Service data. Plan, schedule, monitor and control work to exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, economics, IT, or a related field
  • Seven years of job-related experience in business management, engineering, operations, IT and/or other client areas.

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Masters degree
  • Data Analytics Certification(s)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience implementing a new business intelligence tool or data analytics

  • Experience in creating and developing concepts that resulted in the implementation of new methods, services, products, and solutions.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers, build and lead teams, and develop recommendations and implement solutions.
  • Competencies: IT system analysis with an emphasis on innovation/consensus building, project management, interpersonal people kills, presentation skills, and the ability to convey an idea to an executive audience.
