Job Summary

  • The Principal Business Process Anayst (BPA) provides support by assisting the Common ProcessGovernance (CPG) Managers of Business Applications in providing allsupport services required from customers for Enterprise Business System (EBS). This includes interfacing with clients in order to understandapplications, identifying training needs, and is responsible fordocumenting business needs and creating Business Cases. The Principal BPA also participates in complex problem solving and detailed analysis of the system which may involve leading small projects. The Principal BPA will also identify and lead continuous improvement activities on business processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing and coordinating teams for specific EBS business role configuration or tailoring, including evaluating, making complex changes, interacting with the business unit, and providing requirements to vendors.
  • Knows complex and interrelated business processes from end to end and how they are configured in the system. Able to perform system analysis and knows system configuration to the extent that it can be changed and/or tested.
  • Analyzes, reviews, understands and consults on business risks and controls, and makes recommendations for fixes; has deeper understanding of control framework.
  • Monitors error handling; knows root cause analysis.
  • Gathers information, analyzes, designs, recommends and implements solutions in area of responsibility. Identifies/utilizes appropriate tools and conducts research utilizing internal and external sources.
  • Works as informal lead, as well as team member, and utilizes team building skills on multiple teams. Supports multiple internal clients, and closely interacts with Information Technology (ITS) Information Officer (IO).
  • Interacts with vendors, both functional and technical.
  • Leads in level 2 or level 3 problem support responses.
  • Delivers formal and informal presentations.
  • Responsible for performing process impact analysis and risks from an integrated perspective, and writing business cases for proposed changes to the system or processes.
  • Follows, advises and monitors, as well as promotes, appropriate CPG processes for documentation and change control.
  • Responsible for designing, monitoring and executing scripts for related processes and validating results.
  • Performs system and new process measurement and analysis.
  • Identifies training needs and process documentation and standard work instructions.
  • Provides planning and time estimates for own assignments, as well as other group assignments.
  • Requires minimal supervision, is self-directed and self-motivated.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology or a related curriculum, and four years of relevant business process experience, including SAP or Maximo or Advantix proficiency sufficient to apply or support these applications (typically attainable through three year(s) of substantive experience with these applications) with minimal instruction or guidance.
  • Note: an Associate degree (same curricula) and six-plus years of relevant business process experience (including the SAP, Maximo, or Advantix experience) may be substituted.

Other Qualifications

Preferred

 

  • Knowledge of ServiceSuite and/or ADMS
  • Workforce planning and strategy experience
  • Knowledge SAP (CRM), InService or Maximo
  • Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma and/or other process improvement and project management concepts and tools

 

Other Requirements

  • Experience in interfacing with clients, understanding business applications and assisting in documenting business needs.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from among a broad range of alternatives, understanding work standards, risks and controls in the development and recommendation of solutions.
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills.
  • Able to work in 'team' and 'matrixed' environments in supporting multiple clients.
  • Written and verbal communication and advocacy skills consistent with the ability to present the results of projects and research to Senior Corporate management.
  • Incumbents work with a large degree of independence; assignments are received in the form of results expected.
  • Some local travel and some on-call requirements are required.
