Job Summary
Location: Detroit, MI
This position is responsible for providing technical and project support for multiple operating projects, project due diligence and construction support. Duties include providing technical review of technology and equipment and evaluation of plans and specifications. In addition, for operational improvement projects you will answer questions related to specific aspects of a project such as scope, schedule, budget; monitoring and reporting of costs and project progress; and special projects as assigned. Exercises discretion and judgment within established policies, procedures, and practices. Performance results are reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to these policies, procedures, and practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Review of plans, technical documents, permit requirements, contracts, and other commercial documents
- Responding to questions regarding specific aspects of a project such as scope, schedule, and budget
- Facilitate design reviews and evaluate design layouts proposed by outside consultants
- Preparing cost estimates, schedules, and purchase orders in support of operational projects executing management of change for improvements
- Preparing and evaluating bid packages for engineering, construction, equipment, and materials
- Support the Asset Maintenance Foundational Capability through leadership in the population and reporting within e-maint CMMS system
- Coordinating activities of contractors, consultants, and vendors in support of assigned projects or in support of a project manager
- Performing technical due diligence activities in support of development efforts; including gas modeling support for both dairy and landfill RNG projects
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or equivalent discipline
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the engineering or construction field

- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to the engineering and construction industries
- Uses knowledge to influence and direct project outcome
- Challenges status quo in new ways to solve discipline specific problems
- Requires minimal supervision of a project manager or director
- Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and a business leader, who collaborate on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation, and development)

- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
The employee performs job duties primarily in a work from home capacity and periodically from a climate-controlled office environment, with a moderate noise level. However, on an occasional basis the employee may be required to travel to project sites where noise levels and environmental conditions may vary.
