Testing Required:
Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.
Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
- Experienced business analyst who examines and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes, including complex financial or forecasting data, and recommends sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements intended to enhance the business unit's operational effectiveness. Data subject to analysis may include operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, industry benchmarks, retail natural gas programs, etc. applicable to the Gas Nominations area. This is an individual contributor role
- Oversees administration of various retail natural gas programs. Entails acting as key contact for these programs with frequent interaction with regulatory and third party audit personnel ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Requires continuous interaction with key customers and close coordination with Legal, Regulatory, Marketing, Billing, Accounting, Audit, Gas Supply, and other Gas Operations business units.
- Responsible for balancing nomination data for proper allocation of volumetric, billing and financial reporting.
- Performs complex financial and operational analysis to determine impact of new or modified service offerings or procedural changes; makes and implements complex decisions with minimal oversight.
- Performs root cause analysis on complex problems identifying potential systemic issues resulting in implementing a resolution to solve the problem.
- Assists with maintaining current information on the business unitÆs scorecards and metrics.
- Researches best business practices in- and outside the business unit to establish benchmark practices and data.
- Facilitates / leads meetings and group discussions relevant to the business unitÆs operational effectiveness.
- May lead project planning and creation of project work plans for special projects as assigned.
- Gathers information, analyzes, designs, recommends and implements solutions in area of responsibility.
- Assists with system enhancement projects (i.e. Customer 360, ENominator) including planning, testing, and implementation of project.
- May require FERC gas training
- Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, accounting/finance, economics or information technology and a broad understanding of the following functions with five (5) plus years of experience in: Project Management, Operations, Marketing, or Finance/Accountin
- Experience in the gas or electric utility industry
- Consulting and influencing skills consistent with the ability to build relationships and influence parties; may include getting parties to embrace changing expectations and initiatives.
- Written and verbal communication and advocacy skills consistent with the ability to present results of projects and research to seniorlevel management, and engage in persuasive written and verbal interaction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent, sufficient to apply the applications with minimal instruction or guidance (level of proficiency typically attainable through 3 plus year(s) of substantive experience with these applications).
- Analytical and problemsolving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
- Ability to conduct effective meetings and manage the meeting process with optimal results.
- Initiates new ideas and approaches; challenges orthodox practices and approaches with reasonably sound alternatives.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and develop optimal recommendations and solutions.
- Deals effectively with resistance; takes positive steps to avoid the recurrence of errors through constructive critique
