Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

Leads complex projects involving corporate emergency management and crisis preparedness program. Coordinates the development and training for crisis response, business continuity, and emergency plans. Facilitates security-related planning and ensures alignment with nationally recognized standards. Supports training activities in crisis management program and incident command system. Serves as mentor to less experienced members of the team. Span of control: 0; individual contributor.

Key Accountabilities

  • Consults with internal and external customers in the development and administration of emergency response and business continuity plans
  • Develops and leads training for crisis response, business continuity, and emergency plans
  • Serves as corporate liaison with supporting external agencies and works with leadership to represent company in external crisis management networks
  • Acts as subject matter expert for crisis management programs and processes, including current industry trends and best practices
  • Ensures alignment of emergency response plans and exercises with regulatory requirements
  • Provides guidance with incident command structure during corporate crises
  • Assists in quality assessments of company response capabilities and exercises
  • Facilitates complex training development and exercises for security-related requirements

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in crisis management, incident command systems, and/or emergency response administration

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing emergency preparedness plans, as well as managing response efforts during critical incidents.

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficient in computer technology (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Ability to be available for on-call responsibilities or emergency coordination
