Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

  • Supports development and implementation of new/revised policies, procedures, programs, initiatives, or solutions within the process or through cross-functional process boundaries with multiple business units, including Information Technology Systems, Fossil Generation, Nuclear Generation, Distribution Operations, Corporate Security, Generation Optimization, and Renewable Energy. Works closely with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from numerous business units to ensure North America Electrical Reliability Corp (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and Operations and Planning (NERC 693) process documentation and programs meet the NERC compliance requirements and ensures that sustainment activities for the processes will meet audit standards. Also supports the NERC Compliance Organization (NCO) leaders in developing, monitoring, sharing, and improving processes and documentation associated with DTE Electric NERC standards adherence. Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of process clarity, process awareness, process performance measurements, process management, and documentation management for NERC CIP and/or 693 standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • •    Identifies skill and knowledge gaps with NERC programs and requirements and recommends or develops solutions, processes, and documentation to close those gaps.
    •    Acts as SME for NCO and leads work with business unit SMEs to develop, analyze, and improve work flows, technology systems and processes ensuring compliance with NERC standards.
    •    Supports cross-functional SMEs in developing, monitoring, and improving performance goals, measures and targets in support of NERC program objectives.
    •    Performs and provides support in obtaining and analyzing data for measurement of process improvement projects.
    •    Forecasts resource requirements for process development and monitors both workload and progress toward meeting process objectives.
    •    Creates and manages documentation, process changes and change management tools for assigned NERC standards/programs.
    •    Supports the management of possible non-compliance activities to ensure that identified violations are corrected and reported on time to external auditors.
    •    Works closely with NCO leaders to identify areas for improvement ensuring compliance with NERC standards and identifying areas for "above and beyond" compliance activities, in turn increasing DTE Energy's compliance and reduction of overall risk to the Bulk Electric System (BES).
    •    Stays current with NERC standards development, NERC topics, current industry trends, and cyber security topics.
     

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

•    Associate degree and 5 years of experience in Audit, Internal Controls Process, Risk Analysis and Potential Non-Compliance OR
•    Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in Audit, Internal Controls Process, Risk Analysis and Potential Non-Compliance

Other Qualifications

Preferred
One or more of the following certifications: CISA, CISSP, Microsoft Security Certification


Other Requirements
•    Must have a valid driver's license, provide a suitable automobile for occasional use on Company business, and meet Company driving standards.
•    Experience working with cyber security concepts and cyber security technology to develop documents and processes to build a strong cyber security program.
•    Experience using AssureX CATSWeb or similar relational database management systems
•    Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), facilitate and lead teams, and create presentations.
•    Understanding of human behavior and working with a diverse workforce and cross business units to implement improvements.
•    Ability to create and edit complex process flows and technical documentation to ensure proper compliance with NERC Standards.
•    Administrative skills to develop and improve implementation of programs supporting NERC standards, such as skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio tools.
