Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job Summary
Supervises employees in day-to-day work activities for area(s) of responsibility in Corporate Services operation groups of Facilities, Fleet or Supply Chain. Leads a team of personnel responsible for safe, timely, cost-efficient, and quality service of equipment, materials/supplies, systems and activities for the maintenance and operations of building systems, fleet assets or warehousing functions at company facilities. Develops and maintains an environment that embraces the Core Values and encourages responsiveness to a changing business environment.
Span of control: 10 – 25 direct reports (represented, non-represented, and/or contractors) across multiple shifts and company locations.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensures personnel adheres to work practices and procedures, safety rules and regulations, training/licensing requirements, and Union/Management agreements.
- Responsible for executing work to ensure achievement of metrics, client services, and fulfillment of equipment or materials for business unit commitments.
- Implements and drives change for process and procedure improvement teams and projects to meet organizational objectives and targets.
- Develops internal and external relationships with vendors, suppliers and partner organizations for effective utilization of contracts and budgets.
- Reviews, optimizes and implements maintenance routines, corrective actions, and work processes or procedures for safe, reliable and functional practices.
- Manages facility operations, maintenance, building systems, structures, client services, vehicles or equipment to state and municipal codes, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Manages or coordinates facilities, materials, fleets, or equipment support for business unit operations use.
- Drives asset preservation to extend the life of structures, equipment, and fleet assets through maintenance, repairs and services, or modifications.
Facility Operations: Responsible for facility management and maintenance supervision of grounds, structures, building equipment, client services and code compliance of facilities. Oversees asset preservation to repair and service structures and equipment.
Fleet Operations: Responsible for operations of company vehicle fleet and equipment, including maintenance, repair and service. Participates in the specifications for new vehicles and deployment into the Fleet. Ensures execution and adherence to ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Warehouse: Oversees warehouse operations managing procurement and inventory strategy, materials management, supplier coordination, disposition of assets and administration of supplier relations. Responsible for logistics support of materials utilized, harnessing supplier resources of products or services. Tracks work kits for internal and contractor sites. Ensures 24/7 coverage across warehouses.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through either of the following options:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain). OR
- Associate’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, automotive servicing/technology, facilities management, construction management, project management, or engineering technology and 4 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain). OR
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, automotive servicing/technology, facilities management, construction management, project management, engineering technology or engineering and 2 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain).
Other Qualifications
Preferred
- Prior leadership experience, either formal or a lead worker position
- Experience in working in Quality Management Systems and ability to understand, create and execute established processes and procedures. Experience in facilities entailing maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and restoration of building or industrial assets or other directly related operations or maintenance experience, and preferred leadership experience (includes lead worker role)
- Experience in fleet entailing maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and restoration of industrial vehicle assets or other directly related operations or maintenance experience, and preferred leadership experience (includes lead worker role)
- Experience in supply chain entailing supply chain/materials management experience in a related field and preferred leadership experience (includes lead worker role)
Other Requirements
- Working knowledge of EEO, Safety, Company/Union/Management Partnership and employee development programs
- Possesses knowledge of US DOT safety rules & regulations; MDOT rules & regulations; Federal OSHA, ANSI, OEM safety rules and regulations; federal & Michigan cargo & load securement standards; weights
- Working knowledge of and the ability to administer the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
- Has a working knowledge of Maximo, SAP, SRM and other business-related work management systems
- Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written and presentation skills
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and meet company driving standards
- Must be able to work shifts and extended periods of overtime. May have on call, after hour responsibilities, on a rotational basis (varies by department)
