Job Summary
    Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of LFG collection and processing facility. Operate facility in safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Perform gas equipment inspections, tests and operational checks. Monitor gas system gauges, electrical and mechanical equipment for correct and safe operation. Work is performed under general supervision, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
  • Professional representation of DTEBE to LF host, customer, regulators, etc.
  • Operate facility as defined by various contractual obligations
  • Provide assistance during major maintenance activities; support and assist the work of contractors on-site for DTEBE
  • Assist in the development of the annual operating budget and forecasts
  • Prepare monthly status reports highlighting activities and noteworthy events
  • Implement the facility's Safety Procedures Manual and Job Site Conduct Book
  • Collect and analyze landfill gas samples
  • Diagnose and correct adverse gas field and plant conditions and malfunctions
  • Perform equipment inspections, test and operational checks
  • Record operating data and maintain a logbook
  • Prepare production reports
  • Perform and record monthly safety audits and inspections as identified in site safety manuals
  • Inspect gas system components for mechanical problems and make appropriate repairs
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and records
  • Monitor gas quality and quantity to ensure product specifications are met and production maximized
  • Maintain gas system drawings, instruction books and manuals
  • Perform minor electrical, mechanical and pipeline repairs
  • Monitor for gas collection system regulatory compliance and maintain compliance records
  • Perform custodial and janitorial tasks and routine buildings and grounds maintenance and repair
  • Investigate mechanical problems, recommend appropriate repair, replacement and enhancement
  • Collect oil, water, wastewater, gas and air samples for analysis
  • Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A  valid state driver's license are required.
  • A two year technical degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar) or a two year science degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology or similar) are desired or an equivalent of work experience
Other Qualifications
  • Experience in gas processing and/or power generation operations
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrument control systems
  • Basic computer skills; competent in MS Office applications
  • May be required to work unscheduled overtime, will respond to callouts (plant upset conditions) outside of normal work hours
  • Experience with budgeting, construction, commercial agreements
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as motors, blowers, controls and pumps
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently handle competing priorities and tasks remaining organized to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop solutions and make or recommend sound alternatives
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisor, management, customers, clients and vendors

  • WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold and/or heat.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • The employee will routinely operate a motor vehicle and/or ATV style off road vehicle on off-road terrain.
