Job Summary

Responsible for oversight of trending data for site’s performance improvement program. Analyzes trend data and provides recommended actions for resolution, as well as maintains performance improvement indicators. This role has thorough working knowledge of plant functions including individual department responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

• Implements and manages the site’s formal performance improvement trending program.
• Champions cognitive trending in the screening committees and management review committees.
• Analyzes performance trends in systems, processes, equipment, metrics, corrective action programs and industry operations to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigating actions to prevent adverse impact to our operations; recommends solutions for improvement.
• Acts as Subject Matter Expert in understanding related aspects of performance improvement program.
• Responsible for continuous improvement of the site trending process
• Develops and maintains performance improvement site/department indicators relating to performance improvement, including translating how updates impact Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) indicators.
• Mentors employees to develop the knowledge and skills which are necessary for them to effectively implement the various continuous improvement programs.
• Verifies effectiveness of corrective actions and opportunities for improvement.
• Responsible for oversight of the continuous learning reports.
• Leads or participates in assessments to find and improve performance gaps.
• Prepares departmental trend reports that summarize issues and performance, progress on resolving existing trends, observation results and focus areas for the next period and closed trends with justification for the closure.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, science, mathematics or related technical field and 7 years of nuclear power plant experience; OR
  • Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, science, mathematics or related technical field and 9 years of nuclear power plant experience; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED and 11 years of nuclear power plant experience.
Other Qualifications


  • Power plant experience in Operations, Maintenance, or Engineering.
  • Holds or previously held a SRO License or SRO Certification.

 Other Requirements:

  • Makes decisions systematically, anticipates and mitigates problems, and understands business implications of decision making.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating complex formulas, pivot tables, charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Advanced analytical skills consistent with the ability to analyze and interpret data, draw inferences from data, and present them to site leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.  
  • Ability to influence and drive change to reach optimal performance goals and operational excellence.
  • Maintains a position on the Fermi Emergency Response Organization (ERO) in support of the Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP).
  • Ability to pass all phases of in-processing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen.
