Job Summary

    Develops maintenance procedures required to assure the safe operation and maintenance of Fermi 2 as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in the plant operating license and regulatory standards. Advises site staff on the appropriate use of human factor standards. Uses a variety of electronic vehicles to produce procedures. Ensures procedures are consistent with regulatory and site requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develops new or modifies existing nuclear maintenance technical procedures, including surveillances.
  • Researches source data such as Nuclear regulations, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), Federal Registers, Regulatory guides, Technical Specifications and other procedures. Applies gathered information to new and revised procedures.
  • Performs human factor reviews, comment resolutions, and approval of plant Maintenance technical procedures.
  • Designs and develops forms. Draws, scans, places, and edits sketches, diagrams, and other site specific graphics into procedures.
  • Conducts physical walk down of the system or facility where appropriate.
  • Reviews and organizes all available information according to group or department functions. When necessary contacts resource personnel I.e., immediate supervisor to clarify misunderstandings or other details not previously considered.
  • Adds commentary for resolution, negotiation, or settlement on each procedure.
  • Performs miscellaneous staff assignments as requested. Provides cross-functional writing support as needed.
  • Often assigned to multiple, cross-functional procedures with often conflicting schedules.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma and 5 years of Nuclear industry experience in Operations, Engineering, or Maintenance, including a minimum of 2 years of experience performing duties in nuclear maintenance.

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Procedure Professionals Association (PPA) Certification
  • 1 year of technical writing experience

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
  • Must be flexible and able to shift priorities, working to very tight deadlines with little or no margin for error.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work with internal customers of all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels, communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
