Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job Summary
Responsible for directing nuclear plant Reactor Services programs and initiatives, encompassing refuel floor activities during refuel outages and dry cask storage campaigns. This position entails the management of multi-million-dollar, multi-year contracts for project execution during both outage and non-outage periods. Furthermore, the Manager supervises first-line supervisors and provides oversight to roughly 200 supplemental personnel.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversees nuclear plant activities related to the movement of fuel, ensuring the safe and reliable plant operation per our operating license during both refuel outage and non-refuel outage windows.
- Program Manager for Fermi Dry Cask Storage activities spent fuel pool cleanup projects, and dry cask storage projects.
- Develop and manage budgets for Reactor Services programs, ranging from $12 million to $30 million.
- Allocate resources efficiently to meet project goals.
- Oversees the planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance work to ensure all reactor services equipment is maintained and operational at all times.
- Maintains a workforce that is fully trained and qualified and possesses necessary technical skills to successfully perform assigned duties.
- Develop detailed plans, identify, and assign personnel, and develop detailed work scope.
- Apply expert knowledge in the execution of refueling outage services as well as having In-depth knowledge of BWR Reactor Maintenance (including Undervessel and Hydraulic Control Unit), Inspections Services, and Dry Cask storage.
- Direct project completion and close out financial and technical documentation.
- Facilitate investigations and troubleshooting of equipment and human performance issues.
- Provide oversight of applicable corrective actions.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field and 6 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience in operations, maintenance, or training; inclusive of experience with movement of fuel, including three years of supervisory experience or experience leading or managing others, OR
Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and 8 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience in operations, maintenance, or training; inclusive of experience with movement of fuel , including three years of supervisory experience or experience leading or managing others, OR
High School Diploma or equivalent GED and 10 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience in operations, maintenance, or training; inclusive of experience with movement of fuel , including three years of supervisory experience or experience leading or managing others.
Other Qualifications
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in in Engineering or a related technical field
- Currently hold or previously held an SRO license

- Must be cognizant of all plan safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
- Must meet regulatory and training requirements per Fermi procedures.
- Must be able to pass all phases of In-Processing including background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable.
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.
