Job Summary

    Under indirect and intermittent supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or the Nuclear Serviceperson acting in a lead capacity, di sburses tools to the skilled crafts. Perform various inspections of tools and equipment to ensure this equipment complies with safety regulations and plant procedures. This position is responsible for issuing controlled material and equipment. Utilized a computer system to check equipment in and out and placing orders for replacement equipment and parts. Uses equipment such as forklifts and jackstackers. Responsible for inventory of tools and equipment in the cribs and various storage locations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Disburses tools and lifting equipment to the skills crafts and maintains housekeeping standards in the tool cribs and storage bui ldings.
  • Performs inspection of safety harnesses and lanyards.
  • Monitors grease cabinets/oil storage and consumable storage cabinets to verify proper storage and segregation of consumables ensuring they are labeled properly in accordance with site procedures.
  • Uses computer based automated work management system and various other applications to research parts, work history, component in formation, and company information.
  • Uses chemcials and compressed gases such as ammonia, hydrazine, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, tri-chloroethane, etc., when servicing equipment. Responsible for obtaining and complying with information from material safety data sheet (MSDS).
  • Use various computer screens to issue tools and equiment, entering new tools into the inventory and tracking tool usage. This includes M &TE issues ensuring the folders are up to date and equipment is in usable condition.
  • Issues weld rod to the welder and monitor the weld ovens.
  • Performs minor repairs on tools and equiment as required in the RRA.
  • Places CASP and ROS orders. Assists the supervisor in ordering tools and tracking inventory. Stocks shelves and closes out invoices as the stock is received.
  • Meets entry-level requirements and maintains qualifications unique to the Nuclear Industry in accordance with the accredited Training Program and applicable State and Federal Regulations.
  • Responsible for Identification and timely notification of plant/non-conforming items/deficiencies using the CARD system.
  • Responsible for complying with and providing full documentation for written work directions in work requests and plant procedures (reference and continuous use). Validates information in procedures and provides feedback to supervision. Initiates Technical Change Notices (TCN) or Document Change Requests (DCR) to correct deficiencies in plant procedures.
  • Assists the Serviceperson in performing their duties.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be able to lift and handle tools and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces and work at elevations greater than 40 feet.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Must meet regulatory requirements per Fermi 2 procedures.
  • Must maintain qualifications unique to the Nuclear Industry in accordance with the training program and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to pass all phases of inprocessing including a background investigation, psychological screening, orientation, appr opriate radiation worker and respiratory training and be medically certifiable (drug and alcohol screen).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet Company driving standards.
  • Attendance information for the past three full years since initial employment may be used.
