Job Summary
    Responsible for performing activities on the refuel floor and in support of dry cask storage campaigns. Duties include fuel movement, dry cask storage operations, spent fuel pool activities, and all associated equipment on the refuel floor.
Key Accountabilities
  • Operate the Fermi Refueling Platform and associated equipment including: Drive the refuel bridge, Operate the main hoist, main grapple, monorail hoist, frame mounted hoist, and PLC on the refuel bridge, Perform Refueling Platform Preoperational Checks, Startup/Shutdown the Refueling Platform
  • Perform fuel moves in the spent fuel pool to support such activities as: New Fuel Receipt, B5B Fuel Moves, Irradiated Fuel Inspections, and Dry Cask Loading Campaigns
  • Operate equipment and tools on the refuel floor such as: Fuel Preparation Machines, Channel Handling Boom, New Fuel Transfer Crane, Refuel Floor Hatch/Hoist, Control Rod Blade Grapple, Jet Pump Grapple, Underwater cameras, Reactor Vessel Tensioning System, Main Steam Line Plugs, Tri-Nuclear Filter Systems
  • Operate Dry Cask Storage Equipment such as: Vacuum Drying System, Mating Device, Low Profile Transporter, HI-TRAC lifting yoke, and Multi-purpose pump system.
  • Perform surveillances associated with refueling/ISFSI such as: Refuel platform surveillance, HI-STORM surveillance, Refuel floor housekeeping surveillance
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a nuclear power plant
Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Associates Degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology or Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience with Nuclear fuel movement or dry cask storage projects
  • Experience working in Nuclear Maintenance, Operations or Work Management

 

Other Requirements

  • Must participate as an Emergency Response Organization ERO member and responds to call-ins as appropriate.
  • Must be able to pass all phases of InProcessing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within and outside the company.
