Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

    Develops computerized critical path schedules for daily maintenance activities as well as refueling and maintenance outages. Prepares and analyzes daily work schedule to optimize equipment availability and manpower usages; recommends appropriate modifications. Publishes daily work schedules and monitors progress. Documents schedule problems, maintain statistics and perform trend analysis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs assignments requiring an extensive knowledge of Planning/Scheduling. Computerized scheduling and management performance analysis.
  • Develops and maintains plans/schedules, resource requirements and applicable management tools necessary in preparation for planned outages and daily scheduling. Takes action necessary to assist in implementation of plans.
  • Obtains progress, trends, and scope information from the appropriate organizations and analyzes for major deviations.
  • Investigate technical problems, evaluate data collected, determine problem causes and provide recommendations for problem resolution.
  • May provide work direction for Schedulers and lower level engineers and/or technicians.
  • Prepares various management level reports and schedule analyses.
  • Utilizes creativity and initiative to develop, perform, and implement special assignments.
  • Makes recommendations to organizations regarding preferred planning and scheduling cost/engineering techniques and methods.
  • Must work shifts and overtime as needed. Participate as an ERO member if necessary, and respond to call-ins.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with 7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance, or operations.
  • OR Associate's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Nuclear or Industrial Engineering with 5 years of experience in maintenance, planning, scheduling or operations.
  • Three years of experience performing the duties of a Scheduler

Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass all phases of InProcessing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen.
  • The ability to make clear and concise presentations of studies to management.
