Job Summary

Assists the Manager-Nuclear Projects in managing all aspects of the Nuclear Projects Organization. Oversees the day to day operations of all field work for all nuclear capital and O&M short duration, small to large complex projects.  Supports the nuclear organization by providing expertise in civil, mechanical and electrical construction building trades. Responsible for the implementation of the corrective action program and human performance program for the Nuclear Projects team. Span of control: Direct reports include first line supervisors and project managers. Additionally, has day to day oversight of 150-200 supplemental personnel.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides ownership in the corrective action program while optimizing work processes and resource allocation
  • Assists the Manager-Nuclear Projects with all aspects of nuclear projects activities ensuring efficient, safe and reliable plant operation as required by the unit’s operating license
  • Oversees site vendors to ensure compliance with site programs and practices
  • Manages, assigns, and oversees company resources assigned to all nuclear projects on site
  • Ensures vendor adherence to labor contracts under the General Presidents Project Maintenance Agreement (GPPMA)
  • Sets daily priorities and resources to ensure projects are completed in accordance with plant and operational requirements
  • Promotes and strictly enforces procedure adherence and personnel and nuclear safety
  • Responsible for nuclear projects outage preparation and adherence to outage milestones
  • Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within a business unit: planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting and budgeting

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following three options:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and four years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, project management or construction management, inclusive of three years of nuclear power plant experience; OR
    • Associate’s Degree and five years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, project management or construction management, inclusive of three years of nuclear power plant experience; OR
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent and seven years of experience in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls, project management or construction management, inclusive of three years of nuclear power plant experience
  • Three years of supervisory experience or experience leading and managing others

Other Qualifications


  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, engineering or scientific field associated with power production
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Currently holds or previously held a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or SRO certification
  • Experience in construction, business or financial planning, forecasting and tracking


Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain NERC-CIP supervisory qualifications
  • Must be able to pass all phases of In Processing including background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen
