Fort Bend Power Producers, LLC. is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility that utilizes landfill gas in Needville, TX.  The facility has an 8.0 MMCFD LFG processing plant consisting (2) blowers, (2) Ingersoll Rand reciprocating gas compressors, (1) Worthington reciprocating gas compressor and (2) new Vilter Screw Compressors installed in 2018.  The plant has gas treatment equipment to remove H2S, Oxygen, water and CO2. 

 

Bluewater Renewables LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility located in Smiths Creek, MI at the Smiths Creek landfill.  The facility utilizes (2) CAT 3520 reciprocating engines used to drive (2) generators that each produce 1.6 MW of electricity. 

 

Davidson Gas Producers LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility in Lexington, NC.  The facility utilizes a single CAT 3520 reciprocating engine used to drive a generator that produces 1.6 MW/hr. of electricity and is responsible for the gas collection process. 

 

Denton Power Producers is a landfill gas to energy facility in Denton, TX at the City of Denton landfill.  The facility utilizes a single CAT 3520 reciprocating engine used to drive a generator that produces 1.6 MW/hr. of electricity with gas collection responsibilities. 

 

Iredell Transmission LLC is a landfill gas to energy project at the Iredell County, NC landfill.  The project consists of (2) CAT 3520 reciprocating engines used to drive generators that each produce 1.6 MW/hr. of electricity. 

 

Riverview Energy Systems (RES), located at the Riverview Land Preserve Landfill in Riverview Michigan is a landfill gas (LFG) to renewable natural gas (RNG) and electric generation site. The project consists of an RNG upgrading facility that includes Ariel gas compression, selexol separation, nitrogen rejection, pipeline injection and periodic electric generation utilizing RNG powered solar gas turbines.

 

Salem Energy Systems, LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility located at the City of Winston Salem’s landfill, in Winston Salem, North Carolina.   The facility consists of a single Solar Taurus 60 gas turbine and auxiliary equipment consisting of a Mycom compressor and a Howden blower that nets 3.6 Mw/hr. of electricity. 

 

Uwharrie Mountain Renewable Energy, LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility located in Mt. Gilead, NC.  The facility utilizes a gas treatment system to fuel (6) CAT 3520 reciprocating engines with generators that each produce 1.6 MW/hr. of electricity. 

 

This position will be located at the Uwharrie Facility in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, but will also be supporting other facilities in North Carolina and will be required to live within an hour commute of Lexington, NC, Statesville, NC and Winston-Salem, NC.

 

Westside Gas Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility that utilizes landfill gas at the Waste Management landfill in Three Rivers, MI.  The facility has an inlet capacity is 4.5 MMSCFD and utilizes the Krysol process to purify landfill gas into pipeline quality gas. WSD operations are responsible for GCCS maintenance and expansion. 

 

Pinnacle Gas Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility that utilizes landfill gas located at the Waste Management landfill located in Moraine, OH.  The facility has an inlet capacity is 4.5 MMSCFD and utilizes the Krysol process to purify landfill gas into pipeline quality gas. 

 

Calumet Renewables, LLC contains several renewable natural gas facilities in Manitowoc and Kewaunee Counties in WI. The plants produce RNG by puling dairy digester gas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2 and water and compress the gas to inject into the pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters. 

 

Sea Breeze Energy Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility in Freeport, Texas.  The facility has an 4.0 MMCFD LFG processing plant consisting of 4 Vilter screw compressors, The plant has gas treatment equipment to remove H2S, Oxygen, water and CO2.  The Facility was constructed by DTE Biomass in 2018.  Gas from the facility is sold to OCI Fuels Limited. 

 

Phoenix Gas Producers, LLC (PHX) is comprised of 3 landfills owned and operated by SRP-SALT RIVER PROJECT & SRPMIC - Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.  These facilities are all in Scottsdale Arizona and within 10 minutes of each other.  At these facilities DTEBE is responsible for the operation, maintenance and compliance of the landfill gas collection system (GCS).  Each GCS consisted of a candlestick flare, 2 blowers and a series of collection wells located in the landfills. 

 

East Dakota Renewables, LLC is a dairy farm biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) project located in Lincoln County in South Dakota. The facility produces RNG by collecting biogas captured in anaerobic digesters, cleaning the biogas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2, and water, resulting in RNG. The RNG is then compressed and injected into a natural gas pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, anaerobic digesters, membrane biogas cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters. 

 

Birnamwood Renewable Energy, LLC is a renewable natural gas facility in Birnamwood County, WI. The plant produces RNG by pulling dairy digester gas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2 and water and compress the gas to inject into the pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters.

 

Rosendale Renewable Energy, LLC is a renewable natural gas facility in Birnamwood County, WI. The plant produces RNG by pulling dairy digester gas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2 and water and compress the gas to inject into the pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters. 

 

Bluebird Renewable Energy, LLC is a renewable natural gas facility in Cayuga County, NY. The plant produces RNG by pulling dairy digester gas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, Oxygen, CO2 and water and compress the gas to inject into a pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, pressure swing adsorption system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters. 

 

Dane Renewable Energy, LLC is a renewable natural gas facility in Sun Prairie, WI. The plant produces RNG from two dairy digesters producing biogas, cleaning the gas by removing H2S, CO2 and water and compressing the gas for injection into a pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes blowers, screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane upgrading system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs and flow meters. 

 

New Chester Renewable Energy, LLC is a renewable natural gas facility in Adams County, WI. The plant receives manure from the dairy for anaerobic digestion on site and produces RNG by cleaning the gas through removal of H2S, Oxygen, CO2, and water. The gas is compressed into trucks for transportation to inject into the pipeline. Maintenance of equipment includes screw and reciprocating compressors, membrane cleaning system, natural gas dryer, flare, thermal oxidizers, chromatographs, and flow meters. 

 

Iredell Transmission, LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility located in Statesville, NC.  Iredell utilizes a gas treatment system to fuel (2) CAT 3520 reciprocating engines with generators that each produce 1.6 MW/hr. of electricity.

 

Salem Gas Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to energy facility located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem utilizes a gas treatment system to fuel a Solar turbine which generates 4.5 MW/hr. of electricity. 

Job Summary

Location: Newton, WI

An engineering co-op student supports activities relating to safety, environmental compliance, productivity, and profitability within the assigned business unit, while developing a functional understanding of the processes.  Assist in activities as a collaborative member of the Technical Services team.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • An engineering co-op student is involved in supplying technical support to both the operating and technical services personnel in support of the business unit Process Safety Management (PSM) program and Maintenance Reliability Program.
  • He/she will be a “hands on” individual. 
  • The co-op will work alongside the operation and technology teams to learn the dairy RNG (renewable natural gas) process.
  • They will be expected to contribute to activities improving safety and environmental compliance, as well as overall productivity. These activities will include: Collecting process safety information, redline updates to process diagrams, develop an understanding of the chemical processes, material balances and heat balances that take place in the processes.
  • This position requires an individual that is self-directed with demonstrated problem solving skills utilizing the scientific method, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • This position will require daily interaction with represented and non-represented personnel.

 

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited university or college.

Other Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Practical experience utilizing root cause analysis tools and problem solving with the scientific method.
  • Carryout failure analysis and determine the corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
  • Skills to analyze the process and determine any engineering changes required to improve safety and product quality or reduce operating costs.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to facilitate data driven decisions.

 

Other requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient at presenting, both oral and written, recommendations and action plans.
  • Proficient with appropriate computer software applications.
  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required. Some travel between project sites is necessary.
