Job Summary

Location: DTE Stockton LLC, Stockton, California This positions primary responsibility is to provide fuel to the boiler; as well as being responsible for all of the equipment, fuel and machinery. Work is performed under direct supervision with results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Lead O&M technician, but will also take daily direction from the Fuel Yard Supervisor.
Key Accountabilities
- Operates loaders and blends wood to create boiler fuel
- Operates scale house and unloads trucks
- Services loaders daily before shift change and completes shift logs
- Inspects conveyer systems daily
- Performs on PMÆs in yard
- Assists O&M Tech III and IV as necessary
- Daily Quality Control
- Take pile temperatures
- Complies with all site safety requirements and procedures
- Identifies safety hazards and takes corrective actions as necessary
- Communicate well with other company personnel
- Responds to abnormal and emergency operating situations in a safe and reasonable manner
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Training on mobile heavy equipment, loaders, trucks and welding, experience in maintenance is preferred to provide for the following: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Ability to read and write effectively in English and do basic mathematics.
- Background in operating loaders; maintenance; past experience doing shift work.
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.
- Knowledge of plant safety, policies and procedures, especially in areas such as chemical handling, highenergy systems, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, first aid, rotating machinery, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, management and the general public.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to callins when contacted.

- Must be able to enter and work in confined space areas, including boilers, condensers, tanks, etc. to evaluate equipment condition or inspect work efforts by assigned resources.
- The employee in this classification will be required to frequently lift objects of up to 25 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to lift or move objects of up to 40 pounds in weight. In addition, the employee will occasionally push or pull up to 70 pounds in weight.
- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and out in plant. In the course of working at the plant site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office, but may become loud at the plant site.
